Dom Martin "A Savage Life" Album
Multi-award winning and multi-nominated Northern Irish blues guitarist Dom Martin will release his highly anticipated sophomore studio album “A Savage Life” on Friday 8 April 2022. "Echoes" the second single taken from the new album, will be released Friday 25 March.
Dom Martin is a Belfast born multi-award-winning artist, inspired but not constrained by the blues.
In 2018 Dom released his first-ever recording, a 4-track EP Easy Way Out which attracted the attention of the UK blues scene and BBC Radio presenter Cerys Matthews, who immediately played him on BBC Radio 6’s Big Weekend Show and invited him for a live BBC Radio 2 Blues Show session in London in September 2018. Cerys described his work as “absolutely wonderful stuff.”
In 2019 , Dom played two UK tours, a 5-date tour in Russia, made his European Festival debut in Switzerland and played a further four BBC Radio live sessions prior to a first album release, Spain to Italy in late 2019.
“Spain to Italy is not just one of the best debut releases we’ve heard in some time but among the best albums we ’ve heard from any artist this year” – Blues Power, USA
"Now and again, you stumble across a rare talent of such sheer genius that makes you wonder whether what you have witnessed can possibly be for real. Dom Martin is one such talent.” – Blues in Britain
In early 2020 Dom completed his first European Tour and had just completed playing UK shows whilst returning to Ireland when the Covid pandemic hit.
During lockdown in December 2020, Dom performed a concert at The Harlington in Fleet which Dom recorded as one off performance. As a result, in June 2021, the live album Live At The Harlington was released and showcased the rawness and intimacy of his live performances. The critically acclaimed album was the 17th most played in the IBBA 2021 chart, above such artists as Tommy Castro, Jimmy Vaughan, and Joe Bonamassa.
"Dom Martin is an exceptional talent and this shows him in a remarkable light. My guess is that, come the end of the year, it will be in a lot of Best of 2021 lists. Fabulous album.” – Music News.com, 5-stars
"Dom has been compared to Rory Gallagher in style and execution and the great man would be proud to know his legacy is being so perfectly preserved." – Blues in Britain
