The Bad Flowers & Federal Charm Co-headline UK Tour
The Bad Flowers and Federal Charm will co-headline a Planet Rock Presents tour in the UK starting at the Thekla Bristol on Wednesday 19th September finishing up on Sunday 30th September at London’s Borderline. Special guests are Those Damn Crows.
Following 2016’s Planet Rock Roadstars co-headline tour with SIMO and Aaron Keylock, Federal Charm amicably parted ways with vocalist and guitarist Nick Bowden and drummer Danny Rigg. Paul Bowe (guitar) and LD Morawski (bass) recruited new vocalist and frontman Tom Guyer and one of Manchester’s top drummers, Josh Zahler.
Tom Guyer’s powerful and characterful voice led to immediate chemistry as he joined Paul and LD in writing sessions for Federal Charm’s third album, “Passenger”. His wide vocal range opened up new creative possibilities during song writing process that added an exciting, new dynamic that complimented Federal Charm’s exhilarating blues rock sound.
Over the years, Federal Charm’s heavy new blues rock musical direction and style has organically evolved since the band’s second album Across the Divide(2015). New drummer Josh Zahler adds his own distinctive drumming style and grooves that compliments the band’s pulsating rhythm section.
2017 was a busy year for Federal Charm which saw the band performing a great number of high profile gigs supporting UFO, Y&T and Brian Downey’s ALIVE AND DANGEROUS. These shows introduced the new line-up to old and new fans alike. The band received a fantastic reception.
What’s more, fans got a taste of the new direction and musical impact of Federal Charm’s transformation. The success of the band’s live shows and new songs, resulted in the band being picked up by global touring booking agent TKO (Stone Broken, Jared James Nichols, and the Bad Flowers).
During May 2018, Federal Charm road-tested some of the new songs and the new line-up via four sold-out shows in Bristol, Norwich, Manchester and Newcastle and received an incredible reaction from old fans and new converts alike.
