Supporting Bad Touch on March/April 2020 UK Tour

Piston are a British five-piece rock ‘n’ roll engine made up of four members from the Midlands greased with a vocal roar from the south; which, when put together and fired up produce a no-nonsense sound not to be reckoned with!

Piston released their long awaited self-titled debut album on Friday 13th September 2019.  The album is self-released with distribution by Music Glue.

The Cannock based band will support Norwich’s Bad Touch on their March & April UK Tour. Tickets are available via

Before the festive season they released an electrifying homage to Slade by releasing a cover of their 1972 anthem “Mama Weer All Crazee Now”. The official music video features cameos from Bad Touch, Collateral, Gorilla Riot, Sons Of Liberty, New Saints and Liberty Lies.

Piston recorded the single at Long Wave Recording Studio in Cardiff with Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me the Horizon, Funeral For A Friend, Motorhead) at the production helm.

2019 has been an incredible year for Piston,” says guitarist Jack Edwards. We wanted to pay respect to one our favourite bands, Slade, who also come from the same neck of the woods in Wolverhampton. This single is a thank you to everyone who supported us this year.”

The 10-track album was recorded at Silk Mill Studios in Newcastle Under Lyme and produced by Dan Swift (Iggy Pop, Depeche Mode).  Two bonus tracks, One More Day and Rainmaker were remixed by Romesh Dodangoda.

The upcoming album features the searing anthems — Blow It Away, One More Day and Rainmaker. The album is a rock n’ roll rollercoaster ride treading the fine line between chaos and radio friendly rebellious rock. It’s got the guitar spirit of the Cult and the hi-octane energy of the Foo Fighters.

This eponymous debut album is the embodiment of hard work for the boys, having recorded one album already and choosing to scrap it all and start again in the pursuit of finding their true authentic. The debut platter tips its hat to different genres as it progresses, but never strays too far from the path its intended to go down, it shows diversity, power and confidence from the first contact between stick and drum right until the last chord has been struck.

Vocalist Rob Angelico waxes lyrical about the singles — One More Day is about learning to trust in the natural progression of life. We can't turn back time here, we can only progress and move forward. We always have another day to find the light.”

Rainmaker is about never staying in one place, to always keep moving forward and to strive to feel free. It's about finding internal peace and sacrificing old thought patterns that prevent us from getting what we desire.”

Blow It Away is a rock and roll hurricane of a song, that is both exciting to play and was a joy to record.  This will be the third single from the debut album, and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Guitarist Jack Edwards describes the recording process Rainmaker - “Rainmaker was the very first track we recorded for the album. You can hear our excitement in the track. We were all back together in one room and we tracked it right then and there! We love it and its not perfect, and we don’t want it to be — rock and roll has never been perfect. It’s a huge step in the new sound of Piston, it will easily stand there with some of the modern greats, but it most certainly pays homage to some of our idols.

Dynamite is about following your instincts, with whatever feels right to you and taking steps to achieving what you desire. Once you believe, there’s nothing in the universe that can stop it coming to you. Like Dynamite, it will explode into your life.

Rainmaker is about never staying in one place, to always keep moving forward and to strive to feel free. It's about finding internal peace and sacrificing old thought patterns that prevent us from getting what we desire.

Go Now is about following our hearts on the journey of life and making our own decisions despite what others may think. It touches on Love, death, self-realisation and obtaining our hopes and dreams.

Carry Us Home is about our relationships with everything and everyone. When relationships begin, sparks fly and we are filled with wonder and awe. As time passes the magic may start to fade and we are left needing to make a decision. Should we stick with it or should we move on? Whatever we decide, Love will take us where we need be. Love will Carry Us Home.

One More Day is about learning to trust in the natural progression of life. We can't turn back time here, we can only progress and move forward. We always have another day to find the light.

Beyond Repair talks about conflict within our minds and throughout society. Questioning our decisions on a personal and global scale and leaving people and places behind us that have no relevance in our bright future. Addictions, old habits and systems. Is it too late to make things right? Are we Beyond Repair?

Leave If You Dare is about the anger that can you feel in a relationship — it exposes the voice inside your head and the thoughts that run through your mind when you have your back up against the wall — it’s the voice of anger that you should choose to ignore.

Blow It Away is about going through our lives and not really knowing exactly what the purpose of it all is. We just live in hope that tomorrow will bring better things, it's about not taking life too seriously as we'll always have another day to make things better.

Let Us Rise is about spending a large portion of your life living for other people and doing everything others ask of you and then one day realising you need to take things into your own hands and take control. Changing your beliefs, making a change.

Into The Night is about being understanding and patient with ourselves and others. We all struggle with our thoughts sometimes but as long as we are aware, we are half-way there. We have to explore the darkness to find our way back to the light.

"These guys are going to be HUGE!"
- Sam Hughes, Planet Rock Radio

"The guitarists slay! The sort of riffs that would go down in rock history! I love it!"
- Alex Baker, Kerrang! Radio

"A searing, instantly infectious anthem, 'One More Day’ is custom-built to consume vast venues and, as well as landing a hefty musical punch, it’s packed with weighty and thought-provoking lyrics too!"
- Planet Rock Radio

"Rob Angelico on vocals anchors the whole thing in a slightly edgy way like Phil Lewis used to in LA Guns
back in the day and these songs veer – and sneer – from trying to steal your whiskey,
and your woman – and failing that they’d take both most likely
